Chapter Index

After settling the matter with his younger sister, Long Tian spoke a few words with Long Le before being informed by a servant that Dong Zhuo had urgent business and requested his presence at the Dong Manor.

Upon arriving at the manor, he found that nearly all the generals had gathered.

They sat in the guest hall in a heavy, brooding silence.

Dong Zhuo’s face was dark, his expression twisted in a murderous rage.

Long Tian’s heart hammered against his ribs for a moment.

Had his affair with Dong Yuan been exposed?

However, a glance at Niu Fu calmed him. The man was lost in deep thought, and when he caught Long Tian’s eye, he even gave a small, friendly nod.

This was not the look of a man who had discovered he was being cuckolded.

Relieved, Long Tian greeted the group and took his seat.

Once everyone had arrived, Dong Zhuo spoke in a low, gravelly voice.

“A few days ago, the Imperial Army under Commander Zhang Wen was crushed by Beigong Boyu. They have retreated to Anding Commandery, leaving us pushed right into the center of this fire.”

Zhang Wen had commanded at least a hundred thousand men.

Yet, that massive force had been defeated by a rebel army of equal size, an army with mismatched equipment and inferior supplies.

It was a humiliating defeat that had already cost them a significant portion of their western territories.

Long Tian’s eyes flickered. He had a premonition, as if fate itself had presented him with an opportunity.

If he could use this war to lead his own troops, gain official recognition from the court, and establish a foothold in Xiliang…

…he could control the Silk Road and eventually the entire region.

“For now, the court has commanded us to stop the rebels. Gentlemen, return to your barracks immediately and prepare for battle.”

Dong Zhuo continued, his voice tight with anger.

At best, he commanded only thirty thousand men, his trusted private army, the fruit of years of accumulated wealth.

A direct confrontation with the rebels would be disastrous.

Even a victory would leave him severely weakened; a defeat would mean his enemies in the capital would tear him apart.

Even Tao County might be lost. The situation was dire.

The generals rose, clasping their fists in response, each face grave.

The atmosphere was grim, they understood this was no trivial matter, outnumbered, the battle would be brutal, especially in terms of casualties.

When losses reached one-third, an army faced collapse. Fighting to the end was impossible, even holding out to half strength was doubtful.

It all hinged on that first burst of spirit. Yet the rebels, riding a wave of consecutive victories, were now at the peak of their morale.

Long Tian returned home to pack and say his goodbyes.

When Dong Ya heard her son was heading to the battlefield, her vision went dark, and she nearly fainted.

Long Tian caught her, holding her close. He could feel her trembling.

They had only just opened their hearts to one another, and now he was leaving for the war.

“Mother, it’ll be fine. My martial arts are formidable; I won’t come to harm. Mother, shall we make a bet?”

Dong Ya shot Long Tian a disapproving glance, her eyes brimming with tears.

Since ancient times, the battlefield was akin to a grave.

When a wife saw her husband off, she often became a widow before her time.

“As long as you come back safe and sound, Mother will be satisfied.”

“Mother, if I return safely this time, how about you bear me a child?”

Long Tian said, his excitement rising.

The idea of having a blood relative bear his child, coupled with the sight of his still-alluring mother, suddenly stirred a beastly desire within him.

Dong Ya knew that look in her son’s eyes all too well. This time, however, she didn’t pull away in fear.

Instead, she lowered her head with a trace of anticipation.

    “Alright, Mother promises you.”

“Then before I go, Mother, let’s do it one more time!”

Long Tian impatiently dragged his mother into the room to bang her once last time.

Perhaps because she was afraid she might never see her son again, his mother appeared very active this time.

Unlike her usual passive acceptance, she served him with the tenderness of a wife seeing off her husband.

She accommodated him in every way, tenderly wiping the sweat from his forehead, submitting to her son’s vigorous invasion.

An hour later, Long Tian left the house in high spirits.

Left behind, his mother lay on the bed, her breath coming in shallow gasps.

Her fair, voluptuous flesh was covered in handprints and bite marks.

Sweat glistened on her smooth forehead, and her eyes were glazed and misty.

Her thick forest of pubic hair was matted with sticky fluids, her dark red pussy lips stretched and inverted, revealing a gaping hole gushing with lustful juices!

Dong Ya grabbed a pillow, placed it beneath her raised hips, and carefully shifted her plump buttocks onto it, tilting her body upward.

She remained in that position, determined to keep her son’s seed within her.

It was her way of trying to preserve his legacy, should the worst happen on the battlefield, at least she would still have something to hold onto.

Three days later, Dong Zhuo led his army toward Nan’an, preparing to establish a camp.

Here, they would ambush Han Sui’s troops who were on their way to support Beigong Boyu.

By cutting off the reinforcements, they would force Beigong Boyu to turn back, then seize an opportunity for a decisive battle.

This strategy was proposed by strategist Li Ru.

Engaging the rebel army of 100,000 with high morale now would likely result in defeat.

It was wiser to focus on intercepting the reinforcements.

During the march, Long Tian stayed close to the veteran commanders.

He felt a surge in his leadership experience as he absorbed the realities of ancient warfare.

Along the way, the sights were grim: ruined fields, desolate hills, and the occasional corpse of a civilian.

He even saw women who had been raped to death.

This was the reality of the chaotic times.

That night, Long Tian was assigned to guard duty alongside Niu Fu.

At first, he thought keeping watch would be simple, but he ended up following Niufu on a patrol round, and then went to Dong Zhuo to receive the password.

The password changed every night. If someone couldn’t answer, they were treated as an enemy and neutralized immediately.

All of this allowed Long Tian, a novice with no military training, to learn a great deal.

It was all so new and fascinating.

Niu Fu was also very helpful, taking great care in guiding Long Tian, explaining each detail meticulously.

He clearly appreciated Long Tian, likely still grateful for the high-quality liquor Long Tian had provided previously.

Little did Niu Fu know that while he lay drunk, Long Tian had engaged in lewd acts with his wife right in front of him, even ejaculating inside her without protection.

If his wife’s belly were to swell in the coming months, Niu Fu would be wearing the largest “green hat” in the province without ever knowing the truth.

After seven days of marching, Long Tian finally laid eyes on the rebel army.

It was a mixed force of Qiang, Hu, and Han soldiers.

To his surprise, they weren’t dragging any commoners along as human shields.

Clearly, these rebels understood that while forcing civilians along might bolster their numbers, it would sever all future roots.

Leave a line of mercy for others; you never know when paths might cross again.
